Dear Supporter,

We have reason to celebrate, HEA members!

On Wednesday, July 2, Initiative 1351 - Class Size Counts delivered more than 325,000 signatures to the Secretary of State's office to reduce class sizes for K-12 public schools in Washington state.

Even better, this past Friday, July 25, the Secretary of State's office certified that I-1351 qualifies for the November ballot. Read the Class Size Counts press release here.

Highline EA had a role in meeting our statewide I-1351 signature goal. In total, Highline EA members collected 5,691 signatures, which represented 76 percent of our local goal of 7,500.

Buildings that met or exceeded their building goal included: Beverly Park, Bow Lake, Hazel Valley, Highline HS, Shorewood, Evergreen AAA, Madrona and Southern Heights.

Members who collected 100-plus signatures included: Sue McCabe, Jeb Binns, Tracey Drum, Sandy Hunt, Joanne Glasgow, Bianca Smith, Amy Hepburn, Andrea O’Ferrall, Sandra Aguila-Salinas and Deb Strayer.

Congratulations! I am proud and thankful for the work of HEA members.

I hope you are having a great summer.

Sue McCabe
HEA President
