Urge legislators to adopt a budget that increases K-12 salary funding

In its latest order, the Washington Supreme Court ordered the state to increase educator compensation funding by another $1 billion (at least) by Sept. 1, 2018.

Gov. Inslee led the way by proposing a supplemental budget that increases funding for educator salaries. Inslee's budget plan increases funding for K-12 salaries by $1 billion, and it eliminates the limits on salaries in 2018-19. WEA strongly supports both of those proposals. Now we need legislators to write and pass a budget that complies with the Supreme Court and invests in our educators. The House and the Senate have passed separate budget plans, and they have until March 8 to reach agreement on a final budget.

  • Email Gov. Inslee and your legislators and urge them to continue investing in our state's students.
